Smart data solutions

Talent in Data Science and Engineering

At D-Data, we help turn your data into valuable insights. Our young data scientists work with experienced experts to provide customized solutions that suit your organization. With our tools and personal approach, we turn data into action.

Our Way of Working

Our six steps to success

1. Describe the problem

By meeting with the business owner, we ensure that we solve the right problem in the right way. Nothing is more annoying than not knowing exactly what you're looking for. In addition, we define the Definition of Done: something that indicates when the project is completed.

2. Data collection, cleaning and visualization

First of all, we look at what data is available and can be used. When we find it, we clean it up and split the dataset into a development and validation set. Understanding the data properly is essential in making a successful model, where we make use of visualization.

3. Building the model

Building a model is an iterative process: not something you do once, but something you constantly try to improve. Think of it as a difficult puzzle that you want to solve. We try many different ways to ultimately ensure that we can solve the puzzle as efficiently and smartly as possible.

4. Review each other's work

Data science is fun, but we are never alone. By constantly reviewing each other's work, we ensure high quality and ensure that every other data scientist knows exactly how the model works. During the review, we will check whether all previous steps have been completed correctly.

5. Validate and industrialize the model

During validation, we introduce the model to the validation set for the first time: data that the model has never seen before. This avoids a possible overfit of our model. When validation is over, we industrialize the model as described in the Definition of Done.

6. Monitoring, governance and documentation

To ensure that the quality of the model's output is always guaranteed, we focus model monitoring in. Deviations in model performance will thus automatically ring the alarm bells. Finally, documentation and governance will ensure that people know how the model works and who has what responsibilities.

Knowledge-sharers

Everyone shares data knowledge

Because we find it important not only to be good at our work but also to be able to explain it well, every D-Data employee also provides training. In IT, communication is crucial, which is why we pay extra attention to this. We also share our knowledge at the D-Data D-Events by and for colleagues, but where we are also happy to let anyone who is interested share it.
